Our Coaching Staff
Ryan Scott
PGA Fellow Professional, UKCC Level 3 Coach
Having played at an elite amateur level, Ryan joined the Professional Golfers Association in 2004. Since this time, he has coached at several venues across Scotland, and accumulated thousands of hours coaching golfers of all abilities, including Professional golfer’s competing on the EuroPro and Challenge Tours. He was successfully awarded ‘PGA Fellow Professional’ status in June 2017 by the British PGA due primarily to his achievements and experiences in golf coaching and his commitment to continued professional learning.
As part of his coaching qualifications and professional development, Ryan completed the Golfing Machines Golf Stroke Engineering Master’s qualification becoming one of only a handful of coaches in Scotland to achieve this status. In addition, in September 2014, he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching at the University of Birmingham, as well as completing the UKCC Level 3 qualification. Ryan also works within coach education as a tutor for the PGA and Sport Scotland and a coach developer for Scottish Golf.

Lesley Atkins
Assistant Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach, Lenoir-Rhyne University
Lesley had a very successful high school career playing for Loretto School under Coach Rick Valentine. She was a member of the U18 Scottish National Squad from the age of 13 and represented Scotland on a number of occasions in the European Championships and Home Internationals. She was the Scottish Girls National Champion, the Scottish Schools Girls Champion and the Independent Schools Golf Association Girls Champion.
She played 4 years of Division 1 golf in the United States. Her first year was at Florida International University and her remaining three years were at the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she graduated.
Lesley has worked at the Loretto Golf Camps for the last 3 years and has had experience with coaching young players of different talent levels. She is now the Assistant Golf Coach for the Men’s and Women’s teams at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina where she has had a lot of success so far in her first two semesters. Her playing and coaching experience will serve as a great asset to the camp.

Dennis Dickinson
Housemaster, Loretto School
Dennis is a very experienced school master, joining Loretto School in 2006. He teaches Geography as well as being a very experienced rugby, hockey and cricket coach. Dennis has been involved in pastoral care for the majority of his career. He has been a housemaster of a boarding house for over 10 years and is currently housemaster of the day house.
Dennis has been involved in the running of the Loretto Golf Camps for over 10 years. His experience around the boarding house as well as looking after the boys and girls throughout their time on the camp is crucial to the smooth running.
